I didn’t smoke marijuana for one day, and It made me really anxious?
I’ve been smoking weed a lot in the past couple weeks, pretty much every day.. and yesterday I didn’t smoke at all, and I felt weird all day. Like disconnected from reality. Somehow, I viewed the world differently. And that night, i got really anxious and paranoid. I was just laying in my bed, and I felt scared of everything around me.
No, I don’t have a mental illness, I’ve never experienced anything that intense.
I’ve heard smoking pot can cause insanity/schizophrenia, is that true? Maybe I was just used to being chilled out, and I was just sober yesterday? Did I have some kind of withdrawal effect?
Has anybody else had an experience like this?

Do you agree? How bad is marijuana, REALLY?
How bad is Marijuana Really?
As compared to most drugs, Pot is the least dangerous. Pot is not an addictive drug. For those who claim it is, anything is theoretically addictive, and there are some people who can become addicted to spring water. So to put it in perspective, Pot is less addictive than coffee. I have become addicted to coffee myself and have broken the habit. You get mild headaches for a few days. I have never had any symptoms for withdrawal from Pot.
Pot will cause some short term memory loss. It’s harder to remember a 10 digit phone number. Beer causes the same memory loss as Pot. The effect is temporary and wears off completely. Pot has no long term affects on the brain. I have been smoking Pot for the last 25 years and I still test as a genius on IQ tests. My mental abilities have increased over the years.
Pot will give you the Munchies. You may eat more than you would normally. If you are on a diet, you should factor this in when deciding to smoke Pot. It could cause you to gain weight.
Pot is a sexual stimulant. It removes a persons inhibitions. You are more likely to agree to have sex when you are stoned. You are also more likely to not use birth control while stoned. Sometimes people get others stoned to try to get them to have sex when they normally wouldn’t. If you are getting stoned with members of the opposite sex, be aware of this and realize that it can have this effect on you.
Driving on pot. The same with alcohol, someone 21 or over could drink a beer and not get arrested for a DUI, It should be the same with weed, you cant have more than one hit to make it an illegal DUI plus drinking one beer is 75% more dangerous than taking one hit. They could make it so you cant get stoned out of your mind and drive.
SMOKE ALL DAY EVERYDAY! LEGALIZE!!

Does habitual Marijuana consumption really lower intellectual potential?
Because I have been habitually toking for approximately two months and am a highly accomplished, successful high school student (cumulative GPA= 3.99 despite rigorous academic courses, ASB president, 110 hours of community service) who most would say is a role model and do not desire to reduce my potential for success in the future by lowering my intellectual capacity.
(I don’t wish to sound braggadocious, I just want you to know more about me so you can analyze this situation completely and thoroughly in an objective manner.)
Is it alright if I just toke on weekends (1-3x/week) to ameliorate my stress & mild depression?
And if it does truly have these negative effects on intelligence, then how drastic are these effects?
Honestly, were it not for the ridiculous social stigma associated with Marijuana consumption, I do not see anything wrong with it (except for the obvious respiratory physical health effects of smoking, which can be avoided by eating or vaporizing). The only thing I might be concerned about is the effects on the brain…
Because I am 16 and trying to find a job and when a potential employer reviewed my application letter, she said that after reviewing thousands of resumes and application letters, mine was “up there with MBA’s,” which definitely riled me up about my potential in the future.
I don’t know what to do…
I stopped toking cold turkey 3 days ago after toking daily for 2 weeks in order to lower my tolerance and now I feel more clear-minded and better overall (despite the withdrawal symptoms which pestered me but have now mostly subsided.) However, these results cannot directly be attributed to my cessation from weed consumption because, at the same time that I began my break from smoking, I fixed my circadian rhythm; prior to the break, I had my sleep cycle reversed: I was sleeping during the day and awake at night, but I have now successfully regulated my sleep cycle and am back to normal (waking a couple hours after sunup, sleeping a few hours after sundown).
I need some advice. Help a brother out, please.

PS: Now you know that not all people who consume marijuana are moronic buffoons. Open your mind and analyze the situation for what it’s worth. Do not take ideologies into consideration; consider only scientific facts from personal research and your own experiences in life. Stimulate your mind, for however cliche the saying may be, “a mind is a terrible thing to waste,” which is why I am now beginning to reconsider my habitual toking…
By reconsider I mean lower frequency of consumption… I don’t want to stop completely because Marijuana does have medicinal value (legal for rx use in CA!!! YAY!!!) and is a great way to unwind after a hard day’s work (or hard week’s work.)
