How can I help him? We can only talk through MSN for the next 2 weeks… and what can he eat that will be fine when he’s feeling sick?
We don’t have the money to afford going to detox right now and it’s marijuana by the way– a long time of it, but he’s strong and I know he’ll pull through on his own!! No need for rehab/detox.. or anything like that (which we can’t afford!) I don’t know what to do! I tell him im proud of him, i ask how he’s feeling and listen to him when he needs to talk! i I dont know what else to do to make this easier for him!!
This is a serious question and i dont appreciate your stupid comments.. thanks to those who actually TRY!

im a teenager who recently started using marijuana with my buddies. i have normally been a happy person and no real problems, like im not a troublemaker or a basket case or an asshole or anything. but i recently started getting into weed at around late october of 08, and i was having a great time with my friends, i got more familiarized with it and kinda lowered my guard towards it. i eventually began smoking on the weekdays after school, which was something i wouldnt normally feel comfortable with. and after awhile i got more comfortable with it and started using it more often. then at around march i decided id stop, and thursday was my last day. i was still interested in it during the weekend until i had something that i think it mightve been a small panic attack on sunday. (and since the ‘panic attack?’ i had not wanted to smoke anymore) i felt like i was going to pass out or something, and my heart was beating fast and i was trying to ‘hold on’. that lasted about 10-15 seconds or so and i kept thinking what it was on the long ride home. i had trouble sleeping that night becuase it was on my mind too much, and in the morning i was still feeling pretty bad, until i went to school and i started feeling a little better. when i got home i kinda felt bad and it mustve been because i had nothing to do and my mind wasnt occupied. that week i started feeling better and the weekend following i was almost feeling normal again, and i wrecked on my bike and i told everyone cause it was funny, but i heard about the actress who had an incident while skiing and i got scared and worried for about 3 days until i went to school, but the anxiety had felt worse after that. it started to get better over time, and about 4 weeks since i stopped smoking, i was researching on the internet and discovered that i probably had anxiety disorder. the symptoms and thoughts were mostly what i was feeling. and ive been feeling better lately, but im not 100% better yet. i was experiencing headaches, dizzyness, alot of things worried/scared me for no real reason, i couldnt stop thinking about it. my thoughts are that it might not have just been the withdrawal, but a change of lifestyle may have made me feel weird, because when i smoked with my friends, we laughed at everything and thought about weed alot, and had a fascination in trippy and psychadelic things. and now that i dont even want to smoke anymore, that lifestyle doesnt interest me. i feel emotionally numb sometimes and the symptoms have lessened lately, but the anxiety hasnt. i want to return to my old lifestyle where im not anxious, depressed, and bored. ive been getting better lately though, and im going to see a therapist soon. i sometimes feel like i cant do anything enjoyable until i get better, and feelings and emotions are sometimes stronger than they normally would be, like fear, worry, sadness, boredom, and whatnot. im sometimes afraid of doing things that i like to do as a way to get away from the anxiety disorder, because i might ruin the memories of it when i get better and do it, so itll just remind me of this anxiety. things sometimes disturb me easier than normal, and i feel like im thinking about the future (getting better) too much that im not paying attention on the the present-time. ive been feeling definitely odd lately and its been about 5 weeks, and im just wondering if anyone has any ideas or thoughts on how to get rid of this generalized anxiety disorder. greatly appreciated.

Any person who wants to quit his smoking habit should definitely make use of either herbal smoke or legal buds. This will help any person who is addicted to smoking to get over his habit in a slow, easy and gradual manner. Legal buds and herbal smoke are two of the most well-known methods which are being used by people all over the world today in order to quit smoking.

The herbs which are present in these methods have been mainly responsible in helping these people in giving up this addictive habit. Many people stand testimony to the fact that the use of herbs is very useful during the process of de-addiction. They make it much easier for the person to go through the withdrawal symptoms which they are likely to experience during this span of time. Many different kinds of herbs as well as herbal products are available which can help a person to completely overcome this smoking habit.

In order to make the process of quitting smoking a lot easier, it is equally important that the right kind of herbal mixture which can be used for this purpose should be procured. Many countries like the United States of America has provided a legal sanction for the usage of herbs and herbal smoke for people who would like to give up their smoking habit.

Many different herbal combinations and herbal smoke combinations are available in the market for people who would like to give up their addictions. But none of these herbal smoke combinations or legal buds contains even a small amount of nicotine. The absence of this harmful substance known as nicotine is one of the main reasons as to why many people want to make use of them in order to give up their smoking habit. This will also regulate the amount of nicotine which makes it entry into the body. This will also reduce the amount of dependency which they have on tobacco and this will also make it a lot easier for them to deal with all the withdrawal symptoms which they are likely to go through during the process of giving up smoking.

People have been making use of legal buds as well as herbal smoke for almost half a century in order to quit smoking. But they should also select the right flavor as well as the right combination which will suit their individual purpose. It should be suitable to their taste buds. Without this, the process of quitting smoking can prove to be difficult for the person. Since nicotine and tobacco cannot be found in any of these legal buds or herbal smoke products, people can be rest assured that they are not causing any kind of harm to their health by making use of these products. www.bigheadshop.com is one website which deals in many different kinds of legal buds, herbal smoke, marijuana alternatives and many other different kinds of smoking accessories. The products which are being sold by them have proven to be extremely effective while people try to quit smoking and the quality of these products cannot be matched easily.

While the debate over marijuana, legality, health benefits and negatives rages on there are many people who are in strife who care little for all these arguments because they are addicted to weed and what the masses decided about the drug matters little when your own personal life is falling apart due to addiction which is a separate point completely to all the others. If you are one of these people and are looking for tips on how to quit smoking weed then first I encourage you to shut out all of the pro and anti marijuana campaigners because your struggle is a personal one not just with marijuana but with a psychological addiction which only has tenuous links to the particular thing you are addicted to.

This does not mean that there are not specific things you need to know about marijuana in this but it all must center around your personal struggle and not all the side bullshit that goes on to do with pot. To quickly summarize what you may need to know about cannabis is this:

Marijuana is not physically addictive like other drugs that have chemicals in them that you can become dependant on, while you can suffer from withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, vivid dreams, irritability, mild nausea and so forth by scientific measures pot is not a drug you can be physically dependant on. Addiction is a mental disease that makes you believe you need something whether it be a drug or a behavior like gambling or sex. With Marijuana the mixed messages about the drug confuse people on what is addiction and what is dependence, if you are struggling to quit smoking weed you are addicted. To confuse matters more many people who are dependant on a drug like heroin are also psychologically addicted in a double whammy that is terrible. This leads to a perception that pot is the same when it should be treated quite differently.

What this boils down to is that you CAN quit smoking weed but only if you treat this as a personal addiction that you can overcome by changing yourself and not blaming the drug first and foremost. This is not to lessen the deep pain, anxiety and helplessness that may come from living with an addiction at all nor is it to trivialize the task of climbing out of this pit of despair either as the demons of the mind are the cruelest and most punishing of all. These tips on how to quit smoking weed are just a way to set a framework you can use to realign the way you think which aids in the all important aspect of willpower which is the only real way to move beyond an addictive habit.

Quitting Smoking Pot is a Choice

Sounds obvious doesn’t it? However by choice what I mean is a carefully considered choice, a choice based on the knowledge of the benefits of quitting weed and the negatives of continuing to smoking pot. This is not a whim, a quickly drawn line in the sand or a spontaneous vow based on anger or fear or a whole host of emotions that have led to your initial acceptance that smoking marijuana is becoming hurtful to you. Choice is saying “I choose not to smoke pot” rather than saying “I love pot but I need to quit”. This may sound like a whole lot of useless semantics to many however it is a proven psychological technique that the WAY we say things and the WAY we think of things effects the outcomes because language dictates more than a simple meaning but a whole host of other desires, excuses, fears and connotations when structured poorly. So make a choice to quit smoking weed and make it an informed choice.

Action Vs Reaction

The writer Rita Mae Brown once said “A life of reaction is a life of slavery, intellectually and spiritually. One must fight for a life of action, not reaction.” and this should be a quote written down and emblazoned in your memory because this is not only good advice for life but also in the case of addiction. How often do you take action to smoke a bowl compared to as a reaction? How often is the ritual of smoking pot coming from a reaction to something: A bad day, a fight with your partner, an inconsolable sadness or rage. How often does it come from a seeming NEED to get high and zone out, a compulsion brought on my troubles or by habit compared to perhaps what it was like early on when it was exciting and fun. Those that tally up way more on the reaction scale may find the reason behind the need for their addiction from the troubles that beset them and realize that the drug is just an escape and the problems behind it are what really needs to be solved. Some may find it easier to work on the reason behind the need first and others may take heart that a deeper understanding of your personal demons can give you the strength to quit smoking weed which will allow you to face those challenges with a clearer head and more success. This is action, control of your own life rather than a reaction to compulsion and external influences which is reaction and as the quote said makes you a slave to it and to marijuana in turn.

Plan

As you may have guessed I am a fan of the written word and the practical application of words on paper may be paramount here. The choice to actively seek a solution to your problems and a change in your life to quit smoking pot will propel you forward but how to do this comes down to planning, goals and motivation. The catch 22 of this is that when you are an addict sticking with a plan and keeping motivation and goals can be difficult and a single bad day can feel mix up all of this in your head and suddenly a single smoke does not seem so evil, then another and suddenly a week has gone before you realize it and the self loathing sets in. STOP! That is the direction you do not want to take and you know it! This is where ink can be a help if not your salvation because a psychological addiction is something in your mind, if you keep all your plans in your mind it is bounds to be influences by the negative thoughts that will plague you so why would you want the pure and good new ideas being corrupted there. My advice is to write things down, write down all the bad things about smoking pot, write down all the good things that will come from being weed free, write down you plan of attack whether it be quitting cold turkey or gradually limiting your smoking down to none at all. Write it down and keep it because those words do not change no matter how much your demands mess with your mind your pledge taken at your most insightful and enlightened point will always be there to set you back on the track you know you want to be on.

Persistence Outweighs Performance

Some people may have an easy time when quitting a marijuana habit but others may not, there are so many variables in this mix it is impossible to predict but there is one truth to it and that is that the end outcome of being free of your addiction is worth more than any failures you have along the way. Most people who try to quit any addictive behavior do not do so on their first try, nor their second and many more beyond that often. This is disheartening and depressing but it does not need to be if you do not want it to be. Every time you fall, every time you give in, every time you blunder on your goal to giving up weed you learn something new about yourself and about the world and each of those experiences is ammunition for the next fight. Victory goes to those who persist and learn and adapt and survive so when you call your performance on quitting into question remember it is not how easy it is, it is if you make it in the end and if you maintain the drive despite the pitfalls that will ensure your success.

The most complex part is the emotional aspect of the withdrawal. This is where most pot users fail, most especially if they have no one to turn to in their most trying time. To be able to overcome the detoxification process you must be able to discuss this process to someone close to you.

The first thing you should know before quitting from marijuana is that, not all people have the physical strength and will power to change. Most people can easily stop, without doing anything to change, they just did it. While other suffers severely from the side effect of smoking pot, this is still nothing compared to the side effect that most heavy drug users have experience. Nevertheless pot users can still experience the uncomfortable side effect of withdrawal. Such as;

·Insomnia
·Wild and vibrant dreams
·Queasiness
·Unclear feeling
·Nervousness
·Misery
·Lethargy

This experience can actually last for a week or maybe a couple. As the body cleans the remaining THC of the system or until the body gradually get comfortable again to itself. It may take awhile for other people to really take the marijuana completely out of the body system. However there are a small number of things that you can really do to speed up the process of recovery. The following are just some of the process to help you get detoxify.

Exercise - Exercising regularly is actually a great way to immense yourself in doing other things, like smoking pot. Since you are just starting to quit smoking the craving for the marijuana is still in your body system. Exercise can make you feel really good about yourself and it also help release the chemical name endorphins. This chemical can give you the exact feeling of satisfaction when smoking marijuana, but without the same negative effect of actually smoking pot.

Another benefit of smoking is that it gives you a healthier state of mind. A much fitter and desirable body while building your immune system that has been weakens when you are still smoking. Also exercise can quickly flush out any remaining THC that is hidden in the fat of the body. No need to lift heavy equipment to make exercise works, just a quick run in the morning, brisk walking, aerobics and yoga is more than enough.

Drinking Green tea and Water – Another best way to quickly clean your body of marijuana is to drink plenty of green tea and water. Green tea can in fact make you more hydrated, and when you become hydrate you will be able to drink more water out of your regular intake. Green tea has antioxidants which is good to your health.
