Xanax Withdrawal?

I was prescribed Xanax for my anxiety and stress after I had a bad bout with the flu and I hadn’t felt any better for over 2 weeks even though I had been to the hospital several times and had a cat scan and nothing was out of the ordinary , had a chest x-ray and all my internal organs were fine, my lungs are clear, my ears were infection free, I will admit for about 10 months I did use marijuana in a way which some would consider moderate to heavy usage and about 17 days ago I abruptly quit after feeling all these different symptoms, now that I’m on xanax I have felt better but my head still feels heavy, a kind of cloudy feeling and my eyes seem to feel like theres this pressure behind them, I’m only on 0.25mg of xanax and I only have a few pills left, should I continue the prescription or would I have any withdrawal effects to deal with from taking 15 pills over a 5-6 day period? I just haven’t felt like myself after I became really ill weeks ago, and all test show I’m fine.
can anyone suggest a safer alternative other than xanax something that will not have the same side effects of xanax and still help me with the anxiety and stress? I have a doctors’ appt. tomorrow and I would like to suggest something other than xanax for relief.

I would discontinue them. Xanax can be very addictive

Consult your doc if you wanna quit, there may be repercussions. You might have to ween yourself off (slowly lowering the dosage,. til you stop completely).

Xanax can grab hold of you real quick and droppin it can cause some serious withdrawal.I went thru it but I asked a new doctor{the old 1 was a quack} to give me a prescript of zoloft. It helped to drop the xanax and it was easy to drop the zoloft.Neither one of those is a “good” thing to take for very long.

.25 is a low dose of Xanax. I don’t believe you will have withdrawal symptoms after 5-6 days. However, if you are still having problems with stress and anxiety, you should speak with your doctor about trying antidepressants. There are many good, safe and effective meds you can take. I hope you feel better soon.

a safer alternative to xanax is kolonopins or valium they take away the anxiety but they don’t make you made at everyone and they don’t make you forgot evrything
