What are the withdrawals of marijuana?
I’ve been smoking every weekday for the past 2-3 months and developed a somewhat harsh depression.
The sad thing is that this recent onslaught of loneliness and lack of self-esteem became more apparent once I started to smoke more consistently. Is marijuana known to have these effects on certain people?
I’ve been told that I am a pretty negative person and I guess the marijuana just makes it more concentrated but then again, I like being more realistic than having the superficiality of poor assumptions.

Chronic abuse can lead to depression, yes. But there are no physical withdrawal effects from marijuana, because marijuana is not chemically addictive. If you quit, you will miss the high, but you wont be all freaking out and in pain from withdrawal.
Remember here that your problem is how much you are using, not the marijuana itself. So even if you want to just try to cut back dramatically it should help.
If you think you are clinically depressed, you should see a doctor and talk about medication.
Zero in on the wording used ‘the sad thing’. Some difficulty sleeping would be the only ‘withdrawl’ you’d feel. Again look at the wording. Marijuana is not causing an effect. There was this loneliness and lack of self-esteem and then you think it became more pronounced.
Marijuana does not cause these feelings. You smoked marijuana to see if it would help with your symptoms. Now your finding it is not the medication for you.
