have you taken your temperature. I feel exactly like you describe and haven't smoked a thing. I do have a temp of 101 though...maybe it is just a coincidence and you are actually just sick with the flu or something. I also think what you are feeling has nothing to do with what you smoked. That was too long ago. If your symptons get more obvious, just go to the doctor or er.

dude. What was your weed laced w/? I'd go to the dr. and either get drug tested or talk to who ever you smoked w/ and try to find out where that crap came from and if he/she has had any of the same side effect.
Anyway, that's just weird and is defenitly NOT NORMAL effects of getting high for the first time.
Most people who smoke don't even catch a real buzz the first time, so for you to be having such strange effects and acting so weird is very abnormal for having just smoked reg. weed for the first time. I'd go get checked out. Good luck.

Strictly speaking marijuana is not a addictive substance the way alcohol or heroin is. It is very easy to get "hooked" because of habit - like you mentioned in that it is habitual. However having been a heavy user like your decribed you will notice a huge difference in your state of being both mentally and physically when you are not stoned; so much so that it is unfamiliar and obviously uncomfortable.
The problem with substance abuse is that it replaces the natural signals for sleep etc. and without it you are suddenly left without your usual sedative. Heavy use screws up the natural sleep cycle and that can take a while to reset. Only time can help that.

If you have a good and understanding doctor then you may ask him/her for some Vallium which will help all those symptoms and ease you out of your dependency. However they must be taken only for a short period no more than one or two scripts worth because they are addictive if you abuse those. Since you are eating healthy already and doing everything else that will be helpful, the Vallium is the only thing I can think of - but it is VERY IMPORTANT not to become too used to them. They should not be taken so you get a buzz of them, they are strictly to take the edge off the "withdrawal". I speak from experience - I am an alcoholic and was given Vallium for about a week when sobering up. I have also been a heavy marijuana smoker and it is the easier of the two to overcome. You may consider attending some therapy group or even going to some A.A. meetings. The reward is great and you will find you begin to clear up in your head and think more clearly and remember things, etc. The difference will amaze you. I wish you courage and good luck.

"The symptoms I'm dealing with include anxiety, insomnia, nightmares, loss of appetite, irritability, headaches and an out of control craving to smoke."

I know what can cure all that!!

Marijuana!
No but seriously, you are already taking the steps that would alleviate your symptoms. Short of taking other more harmful drugs to treat the symptoms the only thing you can do is wait it out. As for the insomnia...i know it sounds old school but warm milk does work. Also you can try valerian root.

personally i think it might be better to get off the klonopin first because either one will act as a substitute for the other when you're getting off...which CAN lead to a worse dependence, so it's better to fill the void with a non-addicting substance. Unfortunately i don't know anything about prozac.

As far as if I think the breathing/swallowing is due to detoxing from marijuana, i definitely think it's related, but NOT a detox/withdraw symptom. I think it's because the weed (although it can cause anxiety, thc also has anxiolytic properties..or anti-anxiety) has been keeping you calm all this time and could possibly have been treating anxiety all this time. And I do think it's anxiety. However it also is a natural bronchiodillator (opens bronchial tubes to breathe easier), but it would not be enough to help you breathe better while you were smoking it, plus the smoke completely negates the bronchiodillating effects and is worse for your breathing overall.

So back to why I think it's anxiety. Well simply put, my anxiety causes me breathing and swallowing problems. I don't feel like I can get a full breath. This happens constantly. I quit smoking weed a while ago, partially because I was having too much anxiety, and it's gotten a lot better since, but I still experience it. I used to have frequent panic attacks that started with swallowing problems...but quitting weed helped. I know this is the reverse of what you're going through but weed can cause or alleviate anxiety. I think in my case it caused it and in yours calmed it. So I think you're going through emotional withdrawal symptoms that are causing you anxiety...which is causing these symptoms. I'm not a doctor but I know a lot about weed and a lot about anxiety and i feel confident saying it's the case.

Anyway i just gave some advice on quitting weed in another answer if you're looking for any....here's the link

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AubikzTGOt8_0prqbM9ux0Dsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080624101005AAv02tW&show=7#profile-info-znySWTBFaa

PS...anxiety can manifest REAL symptoms but it can be controlled if you just trust yourself that it is anxiety, and know that you'll be fine and wait it out...you'll get a lot better. I got over most of my anxiety without the use of drugs..and i used to have several panic attacks daily thinking i would die. it takes time, but you can also read a book or something that sucks you in to help take your mind off the symptoms. suddenly you'll realize they went away...because it's all in your head..

good luck!! and good job for making the decision to quit!!

No not from the marijuana. I know many who have been long term heavy users and never had those symptoms your speaking of. Even when I 've had to stop for drug test reasons I never had any withdrawal symptoms.
I think it's anxiety.
I've also heard the opposite about coming off of Klonpine. They say smoking weed while coming off Klonopin helps, not hinders it. Coming off the Klonopin won't be easy or fun. I don't envy you there.
Good Luck, Be Safe

My theory is replacement activity, which then leads to "normal" activities. When I quit using
1.) I wanted to stop
2.) I quit hanging around people who were using, or at least when they did I wasn't around.
3.) Instead of drinking and smoking, I replaced them with activities that I liked, such as watching movies, playing sports, Video games, ect.
I had a friend who smoked daily, and you wouldn't know he was high, because he became "normaly" balanced. When he wasn't high he was a really aggressive person. So for person like this I recommend a slow transition, with hopes not to relapse. I hope your friend can quit, if it is that important to them.
